Constructed of sturdy, tubular steel with a non-toxic coating, it mounts permanently for added safety. It’s easy to install and easy to remove, and the one-hand operation makes it easy to use, too. An exclusive, easily adjustable feature prevents the gate from swinging open over the stairs. It fits openings from 24.75″ to 43.5″ wide, and also works with most railings and angled walls. Measures 30.5 inches high.

Does not come with the proper hardware for most locations
A lot of the reviews of this product here are very good and have good ideas about mounting the gate.

Great gate for the top of stairs
It took a little time for my husband to install the gate with the installation kits, but once up, this is a great gate.

Great gate
If you are going to put a gate on the top of your stairway, I highly recommend this gate with the Stairway installation kit by Kidco. They work perfectly together.

Does what it’s supposed too.
Assembly wasn’t too hard. Included templates made positioning the hinges and latch parts a snap. Adjustment took a while.
Hard enamel finish stands up to banging.

Loved it, Until my 11 month old learned how to unlock it himself!
When we first put this gate up, I thought it was great and for the first month saw no problems at all.

My favorite gate so far
We have 2 toddlers and have bought many gates. This is by far the most attractive and easy to use gate of all that we bought.

well designed, sturdy, smooth and easy to operate
Please Note: I have installed a piece of plywood, to attach the latch hardware to, on the top of stair post because it is round.

Eyeball Rupture
This indeed is a solid gate. And when locked proves a sturdy barrier. But there is a top locking “T” piece which sticks out horizontally by a few inches.

OK
I looked at lots of gates and returned some. This, like all, has a ledge on the bottom that a tot can stand on—not good for those bolts in the wall!
